"It was my first game there and it was a great game," said Hilliard. "It was the largest crowd ever, so it was a big game and pretty special.
"It's definitely impressive to see that they can get over 115,000 plus people to come up for a game and everything. But the way they treat the players is incredible."
What did Hilliard experience during his time on campus?
"We first stopped by College Game Day and then went up to eat before going out for the game," explained Hilliard. "I spoke with the coaches before and after the game and talked with a couple of the 2015 recruits and a couple of the commitments."
What has the Wolverines coaching staff said to Hilliard about their desire to get him into the recruiting class?
"They are telling me it's a small class and that they need a linebacker," he said. "They are recruiting me as a middle linebacker and they are going to keep recruiting me."
Having watched firsthand the Wolverines defense, could Hilliard see himself playing in their defensive scheme?
"I could see myself playing the middle linebacker position there," said Hilliard.
With an impressive early offer sheet, Hilliard has a few teams sticking out and could be looking to narrowing down his list in the near future.
"Right now programs like Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ole Miss and some others are sticking out," said Hilliard. "It's getting a little overwhelming, but not too much. So I'll probably be narrowing my list down after my season.
Having a chance to watch two programs of interest, Hilliard also spoke about his interest in Notre Dame.
"I really like the Notre Dame campus and the academics they offer," he said. "Plus, they have a chance to play in a bowl game every year and play for a National Championship.
"Iowa is one of the schools I'll be looking," said Hilliard. "But I just need to get up there soon. My brother will be going up there in about three weeks and most likely I'll be going there with him to check them out."
