2015 Union City (NJ) Union Hill offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez is a three-star prospect in the early rankings for the junior class. He's listed as the nation's 37th best offensive tackle.
Gonzalez has reached double digits on his offer list that includes Boston College, Louisville, Rutgers, South Carolina, Syracuse, Virginia, and Wisconsin. His latest offer comes from Ohio State.
"It's a great offer," said Gonzalez. "I'm excited about it and I have a lot of great options to choose from when the time comes. Ohio State is a great school and team."
The junior New Jersey prospect had been in contact with the Buckeyes for a while before the offer came. His offer was given to him from the Ohio State offensive line coach.
"Coach (Ed) Warinner said I fit their system well and that he liked my sophomore film," Gonzalez explained. "He's seen some of my junior film and had seen enough to offer me. I'll be building a relationship with him from now on."
The Buckeyes are a school that stands out to Gonzalez early on. Their early offer was enough for them to be considered near the top of his options.
"Ohio State is high on my list," admitted Gonzalez. :I'm trying to take a visit there but it probably won't be until after the season. My schedule is pretty crazy now and it may be easier to try and set something up once both seasons are complete. I want to make sure I see everything I need to and not be rushed."
