The Buckeyes will look to continue to generate depth at the position with the 2015 class. I'd expect at least another four to be added, especially after taking only two in the 2013 class.
TOP TARGETS: Drew Richmond, Mitch Hyatt, Sterling Jenkins, Kaleb Kim, and Martez Ivey
The most likely out of the bunch to wind up in Columbus is undoubtedly Drew Richmond. The Memphis native grew up a fan of Ohio State and has already been on campus twice. I think Richmond will make the call for the Buckeyes but I think it'll be much later on in the process.
Mitch Hyatt is a top target at the position but Clemson is the overwhelming favorite. Martez Ivey likes Ohio State but it'll be tough to pull him out of the state of Florida.
Kaleb Kim is an emerging target and picked up an offer from the Buckeyes recently. He'll be on campus and visiting Ohio State this weekend. Sterling Jenkins will be in Columbus this weekend as well. I think the Buckeyes trail and will have to hit a home run visit to stay in the picture for the Pittsburgh prospect.
OTHER TARGETS: Chuma Edoga, James Daniels, Larry Wells, Rob Dowdy, Matt Jones, Steven Gonzalez, and Richie Petitbon
The out of state prospects of the group have offers and legitimate interest in Ohio State. Chuma Edoga, Steven Gonzalez, and Richie Petitbon all were extended scholarships by the Buckeyes over the last few months.
Edoga hopes to visit Ohio State after the season has completed. Steven Gonzalez has expressed the same sentiment.
Gonzalez and Petitbon are both from New Jersey, an area that the Buckeyes' staff has placed a lot of focus and emphasis on.
The in-state prospects to keep an eye on are Daniels, Wells, Dowdy, and Jones. Neither have been offered but Ohio State may want to pinpoint one in-state guy at the position.
Daniels' dad played at Ohio State while his brother is at Iowa. Larry Wells has the size and tools and his development will be key for him to receive more offers. Columbus native Rob Dowdy has a nice build and has been receiving a great amount of attention from Arkansas. Matt Jones is a guy that the Buckeyes continue to monitor and if they ever pulled the trigger, he'd he a near lock.
