2015 Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Devante Peete is still focused on his junior season. With his team still in the playoffs for the state of Florida, Peete has registered 16 receptions on the season for about 400 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Though he is the center of a massive amount of recruiting attention, Peete's focus remains elsewhere.
"I haven't really spent too much time on recruiting yet," said Peete. "I am just trying to focus on winning the state championship for my school. We've put in a lot of hard work and have a real good opportunity ahead of us."
One team that has consistently made stops to check out the three-star prospect is Ohio State. Peete has taken notice.
"Ohio State has been in to see me and Nick (Bosa)," stated Peete. "He's had a terrific season as well. They keep telling us to keep putting on a show on the field. They want us to continue to handle our business in the classroom as well. They are a school that has come through about every time they are allowed so they're definitely interested in me. I'm interested in them as well."
Peete spoke about what he likes about the Buckeyes.
"Ohio State is a really good program," he mentioned. "I like the way they have been giving me attention. They're having a great season and are on a pretty ridiculous winning streak so there's a lot to like about their school. I'm considering them seriously."
The Florida standout has yet to concentrate much on recruiting and hasn't made many visits yet. He does aim to see a few schools once his season is completed.
"I hope to make visits after the season," confirmed Peete. "I want to check out Alabama, LSU, Miami, Florida State, and Ohio State. Those are the schools with the coaching staffs I have the best relationship with."
