Thomas comments on OSU offer

2015 Lawrenceville (GA) Central Gwinnett outside linebacker Adonis Thomas had already visited Ohio State before but now has an offer to show for it. The Buckeyes are one of a handful of schools to extend a scholarship his way recently.

2015 Lawrenceville (GA) Central Gwinnett outside linebacker Adonis Thomas has seen recruiting attention pick up in a rapid way since his season ended. The junior star has picked up offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, and South Carolina recently.

Thomas made an appearance in Columbus with his high school coach during July when they showed up for the Friday Night Lights camp. The three-star prospect injured himself early on and had to watch for the duration.

He commented on his offer from the Buckeyes.

"My coach told me about the offer the other day," said Thomas. "Tom Herman was by the school and let us know I had the offer."

"I talked to Urban a few times," he added. "It was an offer I knew I could earn if I put in the work. I'm glad to see the hard work pay off. Ohio State is a good school and has a very good combination of football and academics. It's definitely a school I have a good idea about and I'm sure we'll stay in contact and see where things go from here."

Thomas spoke about his short stint in Columbus over the summer, as well as a possible return visit to Ohio State.

"I camped at Ohio State in July," he noted. "It was cool. I liked it. I got an idea of how the campus was. I plan on getting back up there. Hopefully we can make that happen eventually. It would probably happen over the Spring or Summer."

The Georgia standout is in no hurry to focus a lot of his attention on the recruiting process.

"I'm not real serious about any schools right now," he admitted. "I'm taking things slow. I have time to see what else is out there for me and to look at several different schools."
