Bates Hearing From The Buckeyes

2015 Warminster (PA) Archibishop Wood offensive tackle Ryan Bates has started to hear from Ohio State. A visit to see the Buckeyes is a possibility for the high school junior.

Warminster (PA) Archbishop Wood offensive tackle Ryan Bates announced recently that the majority of his attention on the recruiting trail right now is being placed on four schools. Those programs are Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and South Carolina.

Notre Dame and Michigan have yet to offer but could be on the verge. Another school has shown interest in Bates recently as well that he's keeping an eye on.

"Ohio State has shown interest," said Bates. "I'm thinking about making a visit down there. I want to visit them in the offseason. It would probably happen in the Spring and I think it's very possible."

The Buckeyes' offensive line coach has reached out to Bates.

"I stay in contact with Ed Warinner," he noted. "The conversations haven't been too detailed but he checks in to see how I'm doing and keeps a line of contact open. It's cool that they keep a line of communication available and have their eye on me."

The three-star junior lineman thinks a Buckeye offer would get his attention as well.

"They are one of the schools with a great football legacy," Bates pointed out. "Ohio State is always in contention for a national championship it seems like. The tradition there is very impressive and they also can offer a very good education. If they were to offer it'd definitely be a school I'd look at with a little more focus and seriousness."
