Quick Hitter: Darian Roseboro

Lincolnton (NC) junior defensive end has been recruited by Ohio State for nearly a year. He holds an offer from the Buckeyes and responded to the departure of OSU assistant Mike Vrabel.

2015 Lincolnton (NC) Darian Roseboro holds an offer from Ohio State and visited the Buckeyes' campus for a game this season. He's one of the top targets at the position for the junior class.

Ohio State defensive line coach Mike Vrabel left his position with the Buckeyes to take a coaching position on the Houston Texans staff. With Vrabel headed to the NFL, Roseboro offered his thoughts.

"I figured Coach Vrabel would move on at some point," he said. "He is a very good coach so I wasn't surprised he went to the NFL to coach. I was just surprised how soon it happened. He's a great coach and he deserves it."

Roseboro has been recruited by Buckeyes since last Spring and Vrabel was one of the staff members in charge of recruiting him.

"I was recruited by Vrabel but he wasn't my area recruiter," explained Roseboro. "Coach Pantoni has been my main recruiter, actually. Coach Vrabel would have just been my position coach. I'll have someone else to get to know from Ohio State now."

Despite the departure of Vrabel, Roseboro still has a favorable opinion of Ohio State.

"Coach Vrabel leaving doesn't impact my recruitment," he shared. "I still like Ohio State. It's a great place and I'm sure the next coach will be great like their entire coaching staff is."

Roseboro was offered by Florida this evening. He is rated by Scout as the nation's 22nd best defensive end in the 2015 class. He's a four-star prospect.
