Top Offered Targets: Torrance Gibson, Lorenzo Nunez, Brandon Wimbush, and Jarrett Stidham
Other Offered Targets: Kyler Murray and DeAndre Johnson
Ohio State is where they need to be for Gibson. They'd land another quarterback, if possible, before Gibson will make his choice. The best options at this point would be Wimbush or Nunez.
Wimbush and Nunez have both already been to campus twice. Both are expected to make a college decision in the Spring.
RUNNING BACK (1-2)
Top Offered Targets: Damien Harris, Mike Weber, Jacques Patrick, Sotonye Jamabo, and Taj Griffin
Other Offered Targets: Traveon Samuel, Natereace Strong, Chris Warren, T.J. Simmons, Nyheim Hines, Ray McCloud, and Bryce Love
Non-offered Targets: L.J. Scott and Darrin Hall
Out of the top targets, the Buckeyes are probably in the most promising situation with Damien Harris. A Spring visit to Columbus from Harris would be telling.
Florida State still looks to be on top for Patrick and the Buckeyes' chances have shrunk some. Weber seems destined for Michigan State. The in-state schools are pushing hard for Jamabo and Griffin would be a very tough pull.
WIDE RECEIVER (2-3)
Top Offered Targets: George Campbell, Christian Kirk, Van Jefferson, DaMarkus Lodge, Brian Cole, Preston Williams, and Devante Peete
Other Offered Targets: John Burt, Juval Mollette, Jaason Lewis, Kai Locksley, and Deon Cain
Non-offered Targets: Reggie Rogers
The Buckeyes are in a very good spot for Van Jefferson early on. He's already visited the campus and another trip to Columbus in the Spring is expected. Lodge, Peete, Kirk, and Campbell have all shown strong interest in Ohio State but hard to pinpoint the seriousness until a visit is completed.
Preston Williams is committed to Tennessee already but a visit to Ohio State is likely according to what I have been told. Brian Cole will be tough to pull out of Michigan.
TIGHT END (1-2)
Top Offered Targets: Chris Clark
Other Offered Targets: Hale Hentges, and Garrett Williams
Non-offered Target: C.J. Conrad and Miles Boykin
Ohio State has pinpointed Clark early on as the top target at the position of need. They've already visited the eventual four-star prospect twice since the dead period ended, including a visit from Meyer today.
He also likes Georgia and is still receiving offers from big-time programs. Clark visits Columbus in March and could be a trip to keep a close eye on.
OFFENSIVE LINE (4)
Top Offered Targets: Drew Richmond, James Daniels, Steven Gonzalez, Sterling Jenkins, Chuma Edoga, Matthew Burrell, Jake Fruhmorgen, Mitch Hyatt, and Martez Ivey
Other Offered Targets: Richie Petitbon, Kieffer Longson, Kaleb Kim, Austin Clark, and Trevor Elbert
Non-offered Targets: Matt Jones and Larry Wells
Ohio State is in a great spot for Richmond, Daniels, and Gonzalez. Gonzalez has named the Buckeyes his clear leader, and while Richmond and Daniels aren't publicly naming favorites, Ohio State would be at the top for both.
The chances with Burrell, Fruhmorgen, Hyatt, and Ivey are slim to none for Ohio State. Ohio State has turned the tide on the recruitment of Sterling Jenkins and have a real shot at landing him. Edoga has strong interest in the Buckeyes as well but has yet to take a visit.
