OSU Instant Impact: Johnnie Dixon

Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class is in the fold. Early enrollee Johnnie Dixon is officially a Buckeye.

Johnnie Dixon

SCHOOL: Palm Beach Dwyer

SIZE: 6-foot, 200-pounds

POSITION: Wide receiver

POSITION RANKING: #30 wide receiver

SCOUTING REPORT: Dixon has some unique physical attributes, he has plus speed (4.4) and a very strong, durable frame. He has continued to add mass while not sacrificing speed. This is a potential big play weapon at the next level and Dixon will be able to stretch the field. He has a lot of potential over the middle of the field. We would like to see him play bigger in all facets of the game. Could also be DB down the road.

WHY Ohio State: "Coach Smith and I had a relationship before camp, but it really got stronger that day," he stressed. "The chance to learn from Coach Smith means a lot to me, as well as playing in Coach Meyer's offense. Everything clicked between me and the coaches."

"They tell me I can play right away, but I have to come in with the mindset of earning a job," Dixon continued. "I will be there January 7, so it's starting to hit me that I'm about to be a college football player next week."

"I'm going back to Florida after I leave San Antonio, and then I head to Columbus," he said. "It's going to be emotional leaving my mom, because she means everything to me. Leaving her is hard, but she knew what I needed to do. She was comfortable with me leaving, and once the coaches came to our home it was a done deal."
