OSU Instant Impact: Raekwon McMillan

Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Buckeye coaching staff. Raekwon McMillan is officially a Buckeye.

Raekwon McMillan

SCHOOL: Hinesville Liberty County

SIZE: 6-foot-2, 247-pounds

POSITION: Middle linebacker

POSITION RANKING: Number-five middle linebacker

SCOUTING REPORT: McMillan has been a linebacker talked about since between his freshman and sophomore year. He is a big kid with a great frame and he is very strong. He is a good striker at linebacker and he can bring that thump when he makes a play. His biggest strength is attacking the ball downhill. He can still improve on his play side to side and his ability to drop back into pass coverage. He is a perfect inside backer that attacks. - Chad Simmons

WHY Ohio State: "There was something special every time I went to Ohio State," stated McMillan. "It was special and great every time I talked to Coach Meyer and Coach Fickell. Last night didn't close on anything. The whole 3 years they have recruited me closed the deal."

The newest Buckeye commit spoke about his in-home visit last night with the Ohio State coaching staff.

"When we sat down last night, he (Urban Meyer) was great to my family and parents," explained McMillan. "He told my mom that if I chose Ohio State, being nine hours away from home, that I would be safe at Ohio State."
