Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class is in the fold. Early enrollee Curtis Samuel is officially a Buckeye.
SCHOOL: Brooklyn Erasmus Hall
SIZE: 6-foot, 185-pounds
POSITION: Wide receiver
STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR
POSITION RANKING: Number-nine wide receiver
There are very few skill-position athletes as gifted as Samuel, but the transition to full-time receiver is something he must perfect. His acceleration, top-end speed, balance and ability to change direction are all elite, but he still needs to prove he can catch the ball in traffic and be durable. He plays for the best team in New York, but he rarely gets to go against another Division I-caliber player. When he was at The Opening, Samuel looked comfortable in his routes and he more than fit in with the rest of the talent. Not many players make the jump from New York City to big-time college football and find a ton of success, but Samuel has the talent to do it.
WHY Ohio State: "Urban Meyer is a great coach. I've watched him coach many great teams. He coached Percy Harvin, and that's the type of role I want to play in an offense."
