OSU Instant Impact: Damon Webb

Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Buckeye coaching staff. Damon Webb is officially a Buckeye.

Damon Webb

SCHOOL: Detroit Cass Tech

SIZE: 6-foot, 175-pounds

POSITION: Cornerback

STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR

POSITION RANKING: Number-six cornerback

Webb
SCOUTING REPORT: Good length for the position and is able to play press coverage with his physicality and confidence. An excellent high school receiver, he shows great body control and ball skills. Has good natural feel and instincts for the position. Having just played corner as a junior and senior, he is still learning technique. He did not time well in the summer, but has plenty of football speed. -- Allen Trieu

WHY Ohio State: "It feels real good," Damon Webb said of his commitment to Ohio State.

After a weekend trip to Columbus, the 6'0, 175-lb cornerback felt he had seen enough to choose the Buckeyes over offers from Michigan, LSU, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, and others.

"Coming into this visit, I wanted to look at a lot of aspects of the university starting off with education. They have a good sports industry program with a lot of majors, and my parents and I felt it was a good program. Then there is the overall winning aspect. I feel like I can win here, and get a good education."
