Another of the members of the Ohio State 2014 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Buckeye coaching staff. Jamarco Jones is officially a Buckeye.
SCHOOL: Chicago De La Salle
SIZE: 6-foot-5, 285-pounds
POSITION: Offensive tackle
STAR RANKING: FOUR-STAR
POSITION RANKING: Number-six offensive tackle
Jamarco Jones may not be a pure left tackle but he can easily take on the duties of the position in Ohio State
's spread offense. His versatility could also allow him to play other positions along the offensive line. I can see Jones becoming a starter at a spot other than left tackle in the beginning but finishing up at left tackle. Depending on who else Ohio State lands in the class, he may never have to play the position, though. Jones further aids Ohio State in their quest to bring in a great haul of offensive linemen this cycle. After signing only Evan Lisle
and Tim Gardner
in the last class, it is critical that the Buckeyes land a strong group. Jamarco Jones fits the bill and joins Kyle Trout
and Marcelys Jones
in the fold.
WHY OHIO STATE: Making the visit to Ohio State, solidified that Jones made the right decision even more.
"Just the history behind OSU and the tradition we have here, and the winning tradition," Jones said. "We are going to keep that going, and I am going to love to be a part of this in the future."
But there were a few things that were different.
"It was different. Before it was the coaches trying to pitch to me and stuff and now it was just like we are all family and stuff like that, so it was a different feel."
