2015 Tampa (FL) athlete Deon Cain picked up a Buckeye offer a few weeks ago. His recruitment has taken off recently with offers from Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Tennessee as well.
The Ohio State offer caught Cain by surprise.
"The Ohio State offer was great," he said. "It was a shocker."
Cain has been offered by various teams as a quarterback or as a receiver. The Buckeyes are using the athlete tag as of now.
"They offered me as an athlete," he confirmed. "Coach Drayton came by the school and gave me the news."
The Buckeyes are a program with significance for him.
"I like Ohio State a lot," Cain admitted. "I can't wait to visit them."
"Coach Smith has been by.," he added. "I've talked to him a few times and he's real cool."
