Newsome adds Ohio State offer

Lawrenceville (NJ) junior offensive tackle Grant Newsome added an Ohio State offer today. He discusses his reaction and his thoughts on the Buckeyes.

Four-star junior offensive tackle Grant Newsome is a prospect on the rise in the Northeast. The Lawrenceville (NJ) native has added a plethora of offers recently, including one from Ohio State.

He spoke about his reaction to learning about the offer from the Buckeyes.

"It's a blessing and an honor to know that the staff thinks that highly enough of me to extend an offer," said Newsome. "I have a lot of interest in Ohio State. I look forward to learning more about the program. It's just a great school and a great program."

Newsome does not have any favorites early on but brought up the fact that the Buckeyes had been concentrating some of their recruiting efforts on the East Coast.

"I want to learn more about Ohio State," he noted. "I know that they are a program based on tradition and they have established a lot of success in the short time Urban Meyer has been there."

"The main thing I know about them is that they seem to really be pursuing a lot of prospects around here," he added. "I know Steven Gonzalez who has an offer. We haven't talked about Ohio State yet though. I also know Richie Petitbon who was offered by Ohio State a while ago. We work out together sometimes when I'm at home."

Scout will continue to update the recruitment of Grant Newsome as warranted.
