Stump Ready to Visit Spartans

Ohio wide receiver Alex Stump will join two of his teammates in visiting Michigan State on Sunday.

After a strong showing at the NIKE SPARQ Combine, Lakewood (Ohio) St. Edward wide receiver Alex Stump is looking forward to visiting Michigan State on Sunday.

"I did pretty well at the SPARQ Combine," said Stump. "I ran a 4.54 forty and scored well in the other areas."

Positing a solid forty for a player who stands 6-foot-3, 190-pounds, Stump is hoping his visit with the Spartans will open more contact between them.

"I'm leaving tomorrow morning for Michigan State," he said. "Coach (Jim) Bollman came into St. Ed's and I spoke with him and have received a few letters from them but no serious letters. Hopefully with this visit we can further our relationship."

What would an offer from the Spartans mean to Stump?

"It would be huge to earn an offer from Michigan State," said Stump. "I've always loved the way Michigan State plays and it would be one of the best offers I could get."
