"Coach Mattison stop by our school a couple weeks ago," said Dowell said, who is rated a four-star prospect. "I talked with him on the phone and he said he wants to get us back there (for a visit). But we didn't make a date or anything like that."
Dowell continued: "I have a lot of interest in Michigan. It's a great program. When I went up there (for camp last summer), I really liked it and everything. Plus, one of my teammates (Shaun Crawford) is already committed there. So an offer would mean a lot to me."
Dowell, who camped at U-M last summer, said he would like to visit Michigan again for a game this fall.
"I would like to checkout a game," Dowell said. "I want to check out a game at the Big House and see what the atmosphere is really like."
"I have a lot interest in (MSU)," Dowell said. "I just want to get up there and continue my relationship with their coaching staff."
Dowell's twin brother, Andrew, is a four-star RB, but Dowell says while they would like to play with each other in college – they are not forcing the issue.
We would like to be package deal," Dowell said on playing with his brother. "But it doesn't have to be like that."
As far as what he is looking for on his campus visits, Dowell replied:
"I am looking for a program with a great tradition in football," Dowell said. "A great fan base, and I want to go to a school with great academics. And just my relationship with the coaching staff, I want to feel like I can talk with the coaching staff and really learn from them."
