Megginson Talks Missouri Visit

On Friday, 2015 OT prospect Gabe Megginson from Jacksonville (IL) and his family made an unofficial visit to Missouri. The 4-star offensive lineman spoke to following his trip about his interest in the Tiger and his recruitment.

On Friday, 2015 OT prospect Gabe Megginson 6’5” 280 Jacksonville (IL) and his family made an unofficial visit to Missouri. For Megginson, it was his second unofficial visit to Mizzou this spring. Afterwards, he spoke to, and he talked about his Missouri visit, and he updated us on his recruitment.

“I love Missouri,” exclaimed Megginson! “I loved being there (at Missouri).”

Megginson was accompanied on his visit by his family.

“They loved Missouri,” said Megginson, speaking of his family’s reaction to Mizzou. “They were really blown away! They didn’t expect to love it that much.”

Megginson said that he’s tentatively planning to announce his commitment on May 26, his 17th birthday. He said that he may decide before that. He’d like to return to Missouri for the Spring Game, but he wants to take some other visits before he makes his decision.

“It might be before (May 26),” said Megginson. “I think I’m getting closer.”

He had more to say about his Missouri visit.

“I knew I loved Missouri when I went there the first time,” explained Megginson. “But I just fell more in love with them this time.”

I asked Megginson what it is specifically that he loves about Mizzou?

“Well, the people that surround you,” replied Megginson. “Everybody that has anything to do with (the Missouri) program is just a great person! They like you for more than just a player. So, I really like that.”

Megginson said that he’s still “wide open”, and that he’s not ready to name a narrowed list of schools.

“I’ll start deciding who’s really in it or not,” explained Megginson, who was careful not to give anything away, but did admit that Missouri is one of his top schools. “It’s just wide open.”
