The Buckeyes have been a bit quiet on the recruiting trail in recent weeks but that all changes in the next few weeks as several top prospects will be making the trek to Columbus to check out the program.
Tommy Stevens. Three-star quarterback. Indianapolis (IN) Decatur Central. The Buckeyes have recently shown interest and he has reciprocated it. They'll want to see him throw in person before moving forward at all.
Jalen Guyton. Three-star wide receiver. Allen (TX). He comes from a powerhouse program in Texas and holds an Ohio State offer. He's visiting Ohio State, followed by Northwestern and Notre Dame.
Josh Barajas. Four-star linebacker. Merrillville (IN) Andrean. He's gained a lot of steam on the recruiting trail but has yet to be offered. Ohio State in a great spot at the position but he could be a candidate to receive an offer and believes one will come.
Brian Cole. Four-star wide receiver. Saginaw (MI) Heritage. He has visited Ohio State multiple times and will return this weekend. The Buckeyes trail the in-state schools for Cole and this visit will be important to remain a factor for his services.
Van Jefferson. Four-star wide receiver. Brentwood (TN) Ravenwood. It'll be his third trip to Ohio State and they are at the top of the list for Jefferson. It'll be one to watch as a commitment would not be out of the question.
James Daniels. Three-star offensive lineman. Warren (OH) Harding. The Ohio State legacy will be back on campus for the first time in a while. I do not foresee a commitment at all at this stage but the Buckeyes are at the top alongside Iowa.
L.J. Scott. Four-star running back. Hubbard (OH). Michigan State sped off to a soaring start but will the Ohio State offer shift his focus? This visit will be key.
Patrick Allen. Four-star offensive tackle. Reisterstown (MD) Franklin. The Buckeyes and Florida State lead the way for Allen. I believe Ohio State may actually be on top and it is a huge development that he will be on campus so early in his process.
Jordan Whitehead. Four-star cornerback. Monaca (PA) Central Valley. Ohio State trails Penn State and West Virginia with the Nittany Lions most likely being the favorite. A home run visit will be needed for the Buckeyes to factor in.
Matt Draper. Three-star linebacker. Cleveland (OH) Glenville. Draper is among a deep group of linebackers in the state of Ohio. He will be on campus this weekend but a camp appearance will be needed for him to enter the discussion.
Jordan Overton. 2016 cornerback. Lyndhurst (OH) Brush. The sophomore will travel to Columbus this weekend to get a look at the Buckeyes.
MARCH 29 WEEKEND
David Robbins. Three-star offensive lineman. Glenelg (MD). Robbins has been a force at a few of the camps recently and Ohio State has taken notice and placed him on their radar. It will be his first time visiting the Buckeyes.
Darius Fullwood. Three-star defensive end. Olney (MD) Good Counsel. The Buckeyes had made an impact on Fullwood and that only increased when Larry Johnson was hired and offered Fullwood soon after. They'll be a major player for his services if they pursue him hard.
Gabe Megginson. Four-star offensive tackle. Jacksonville (IL). Ohio State has offered Megginson and recruited him for a while. I think a few others may be ahead of him on the pecking order at this time.
Hale Hentges. Four-star tight end. Jefferson City (MO) Helias. The top two targets at tight end were Hentges and Chris Clark. With Clark committing to North Carolina that leaves Hentges as the biggest priority moving forward. The Buckeyes are in a battle with Missouri for him but it's one I think they can win.
