Dream Offer For Haskins

2016 Potomac (MD) quarterback Dwayne Haskins discusses the excitement of his Ohio State offer, one he calls a dream come true.

2016 Potomac (MD) quarterback Dwayne Haskins may be the hottest prospect in the country regardless of class in terms of his recruiting process. The early four-star junior-to-be signal caller has received 12 offers in just the last two and a half weeks.

He spoke briefly about the flurry of college programs that have reached out to him and the opportunities that he's been given.

"It's been exciting, crazy, and humbling all at the same time," Haskins said of the experience."

One of the more recent offers for Haskins came from a program he's extremely fond of.

"I received an Ohio State offer from Coach (Urban) Meyer," he told Scout. "It was a bit more meaningful coming from him. It really hit close to home. He said he'd love for me to be a Buckeye and would like me to contact him once a week."

Haskins discussed his thoughts on his offer from Ohio State.

"I've always dreamed about being a Buckeye," he shared. "I now have an opportunity to go to one of the top schools in the country. It's given me a feel of excitement and energy."

A video of Haskins visiting the Ohio State campus a few years ago for a youth football camp has circulated, showing further proof of the affection he's had for the Buckeye program. He gave his thoughts on that and what went through his mind when he found out he had a scholarship from the school he grew up admiring.

"When I saw the video on Youtube of me visiting Ohio State when I was younger, I cried," he admitted. "I nearly ran a lap around the entire school when Coach Meyer told me that they were offering. I'm definitely excited about every offer I get but this one was a dream come true."

Haskins is visiting Penn State today. He will also visit West Virginia on June 8 and LSU in July. He also plans to see the Buckeyes in the near future as well.

"I'm hoping to visit Ohio State on Memorial Day weekend," he stated. "It's not locked in yet but that's a date we are shooting for."
