2016 Atlanta (GA) Westlake defensive back Nigel Warrior has hit the recruiting scene in a big way recently. His collection now includes six offers. The first came a little over a week ago when the Buckeyes made the decision to pull the trigger and extend him a scholarship.
He spoke about that experience.
"I was shocked," Warrior said of the Ohio State offer. "I was astonished about it because one day they were at my school and the next day I'm getting offered by them on the phone."
An Ohio State defensive assistant gave Warrior the news and he is very thankful for the opportunity.
"I spoke to Coach Coombs," Warrior told Scout. "He loves the talent I have for someone my age. I'm still young and he identified me as someone special. He said he knows a star when he sees one so he picked me to give an offer to. I'm extremely blessed."
Ohio State is a school that Warrior is very intrigued by and Coombs is a large reason why.
"I have very high interest in Ohio State," he admitted. "Coach Coombs is an outstanding guy and a loving coach."
"I plan on visiting them soon," Warrior added. "It's a great school known for their tradition and winning ways. I'm not sure when but it's definitely an important school on my list of places to visit."
