Cooper Gets OSU Offer

2016 Jonesboro (GA) quarterback added a ninth scholarship offer to his collection, from Ohio State. He discussed his thoughts on the Buckeyes.

2016 Jonesboro (GA) quarterback Zerrick Cooper is on the cusp of having his offer sheet reach double digits. He received his latest scholarship on Monday.

"Ohio State offered Monday," he told Scout. "Coach Herman was at my school and offered me. He said later that night he loved my highlight tape and that I'm definitely among the top group they're looking at."

"He wants to get me on the phone with Coach Meyer," Cooper added. "I plan on giving him a call very soon."

Cooper is a fan of what Urban Meyer has done at each of his coaching stops.

"I know he's a great coach and always builds programs up," he mentioned. "I like his style of coaching and the way he treats his players."

The junior-to-be discussed the Buckeye program and what it felt to have them offer early on in his recruiting process.

"It means a lot," Cooper said of the Ohio State offer. "I've liked them quite a bit and they are an awesome team to watch. They have Braxton Miller and he's one of the more exciting players in football. He has been for the last few years."

Ohio State is a program that Cooper will continue to have his eye on.

"I'm definitely going to consider them quite a bit," he admitted. "I love the offense they run. I can't wait to see their campus and learn more about it. I"m definitely making it a priority to take a visit there."

The Peach State standout also has a few other places he hopes to see this summer.

"I'll be taking visits this summer," Cooper noted. "I want to see Miami, Clemson, Louisville, Florida State, Kentucky, and Ohio State. I'll probably check out a few more."

"Clemson, Kentucky, and Miami are recruiting me the hardest," he continued. "It seems like Ohio State will, too."
