Penn State Offers Junior Linebacker

Brendan Ferns has been offers on a weekly basis recently, and that trend continued Wednesday for the 2016 linebacker out of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Penn State is the latest school to offer Ferns.

One of the hottest 2016 prospects in the Midwest is St. Clairsville (OH) linebacker Brendan Ferns, and he has been adding offers at a furious pace.

Ferns, 6-foot-3, 225-pounds, currently holds nearly 20 offers and Wednesday evening he added another big one.

"I was offered by Penn State," Ferns stated. "I spoke with Coach (Brent) Pry on the phone and we talked for a little while. He put Coach (James) Franklin on the phone, and he offered me a scholarship."

"Penn State is a great school, and they have a great petroleum engineering program, which means a lot to me," he added. "My older brother (Michael Ferns) loved Penn State when they recruited him, so my family and I know what a great offer this is."

"I've been there a few times and really liked it, and Coach Pry wants me to visit at the end of the month," he continued. "I still have to talk with my dad about it, but I'd like to go. This offer is right up there with the other offers I've received, and I'm going to consider Penn State strongly."

In addition to Penn State, Ferns has added offers from Oklahoma, Ohio State and Michigan State in the past few weeks.
