Ohio State's hot streak on the recruiting trail continued on Thursday when the Buckeyes received an on-spot verbal commitment from Macedonia (Ohio) Nordonia three-star cornerback Denzel Ward. The 5-11, 170-pounder was taking part in Ohio State's instructional camp on Thursday when he was extended an offer from Urban Meyer, which he accepted immediately.
Ward's offer and commitment were both first reported by Scout.com's Bill Greene.
Ward ranks as the 67th cornerback in the 2015 class and also holds offers from Syracuse, Rutgers, Kentucky and Cincinnati, as well as a number of Mid-American Conference programs. He becomes the ninth commit in the Buckeyes' 2015 class, joining Dublin (Ohio) Scioto four-star linebacker Nick Conner and Cleveland St. Ignatius four-star defensive end Dre'Mont Jones as in-state defensive prospects to commit give their pledge to Ohio State this week.
