As the sports world awaits the impending announcement of one Northeast Ohio native, another made his intentions clear when Cleveland Benedictine four-star linebacker Jerome Baker announced that he'll spend his college career at Florida. Baker chose the Gators over Ohio State and Tennessee.
"This Bengal is going to be a Gator," Baker said upon his announcement on the Benedictine field.
At 6-1 and 205 pounds, Baker measures in as the fifth-ranked outside linebacker and No. 48 overall prospect in the 2015 class. Following his announcement, neither Baker, his parents, nor Benedictine coach Joe Schaefer opted to answer questions from the media.
In choosing the Gators, Baker becomes the 10th recruit in Florida's 2015 class. As for Ohio State, the Buckeyes have received commitments from four-star linebackers Justin Hilliard and Nick Conner in the past month, but will likely continue to pursue Baker until National Signing Day.
