Scout Spotlight: Weber Went From U-M To OSU

The Scout Spotlight series rolls on with one of Ohio State's most recent commits. Learn about what four-star running back Mike Weber wants to do in college and see some of his top highlights inside.

Ohio State needed a running back in the class of 2015, and at different times, there appeared to be different options.

For a while, it didn't look like Mike Weber would have been one of them. The Detroit Cass Tech star committed to Michigan in August after appearing at The Opening. But things can always change in recruiting, and that's what happened in November when Weber reopened his recruitment as rumors swirled significant changes were coming to the program in Ann Arbor.

Finally, on Dec. 10, Weber made it official that he was committing to Ohio State. He gives OSU another high-profile recruit from Michigan, a list in recent years that has included Cass Tech teammates Damon Webb in the class of 2014 and fellow 2015 recruit Joshua Alabi.

While that's important enough to Ohio State, so are Weber's skills on the field. A four-star back who is No. 11 at his position in the nation and rated No. 69 overall, Weber (5-9, 210) tells Scout he has been playing football since 6 years old and brings both power and speed. He also talks about his potential major and plans for the future in this Scout Spotlight.
