Scout Spotlight: Meet Robert Landers

Ohio State picked up the defensive lineman it was looking for in Robert Landers yesterday, but who is the recently upgraded four-star prospect from Huber Heights Wayne? Get to know him in his Scout Spotlight.

It's been a whirlwind courtship of Robert Landers, but Ohio State got what it was looking for when it pulled in a verbal commitment from the Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne prospect yesterday afternoon after a weekend visit and scholarship offer from the Buckeyes.

The Buckeyes have needed a defensive tackle in the class, and Landers fits the bill at 6-1, 285 pounds. The former West Virginia commit is noted for his quick first step and athletic ability despite his lack of height, drawing comparisons to such players as OSU All-American Michael Bennett and former Pittsburgh star Aaron Donald for those attributes.

Landers also notes that his passion is sports ever since falling in love with football in third grade "because you can hit people without getting in trouble," and that he hopes to earn a sports administration degree at OSU.

Simply put, with Bennett set to graduate, the Buckeyes needed a player the caliber of Landers in the class of 2015. Check out what the OHSAA Division I finalist brings to the table in the Scout Spotlight video below.
