BSB TV: Buckeyes Preview Indiana

Last time out Ohio State got their first road win of the season, a 74-72 overtime victory against Minnesota. The Buckeyes look to make it two in a row when they face Indiana tomorrow at noon.

Three days removed from their big overtime win over Minnesota Tuesday, head coach Thad Matta and players Shannon Scott and Marc Loving addressed the media Friday. Ohio State is on the road again tomorrow against Indiana at noon and will look to improve to 3-1 in conference play.

The Buckeyes played man-to-man defense throughout the Minnesota game, as they had throughout the second half against Illinois on Jan. 3. Matta addressed what that defense has done for the Buckeyes and its impact on the teams rotation as freshmen Kam Williams and Keita Bates-Diop have played sparingly since the shift.

Scott had nine points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in the win over the Gophers. The senior addressed how he is playing right now and what works about the man defense.
Loving is the Buckeyes second leading scorer this season, averaging 12.3 points per game. He spoke about his role as Ohio State's second scoring option and his game-winning shot against Minnesota.
While Loving is the second option, freshman D'Angelo Russell is clearly the first. The combo guard is averaging 18.3 points per game. While his aggressiveness is one of his best qualities as a player, Russell has committed 11 turnovers in the past two games against nine assists. Matta spoke about the freshman finding a balance.
