Instant Impact: Joshua Alabi

Another member of the Ohio State 2015 recruiting class has faxed his letter of intent to the Buckeye coaching staff. Joshua Alabi is officially a Buckeye.

Joshua Alabi

SCHOOL: Detroit Case Tech.

SIZE: 6-foot-5, 290-pounds

POSITION: Defensive tackle

POSITION RANKING: Number-58 defensive tackle.

SCOUTING REPORT: Joshua Alabi, Cass Tech's left tackle, is slated to play defensive tackle at Ohio State, but is a big part of his team's offensive line right now. He has good size (6-5, 290 pounds) and ability. He did a nice job on Friday night, but we'd still like to see him play with more mean streak and finish blocks stronger. That said, he did well and was matched up on Michigan State commit Kyonta Stallworth for a good part of the night.

WHEN DID HE COMMIT? Ohio State got even more good news at its Friday Night Lights event when Detroit Cass Tech three-star defensive end Joshua Alabi gave his verbal commitment to play for the Buckeyes.

He’s the second OSU commit in as many years from the noted Michigan pipeline, joining four-star cornerback Damon Webb, who signed with Ohio State in February.

“It just felt like the right thing,” he said. “It felt like a family. I prayed on it and feel like I made the right decision.”
