Alex Stump

SCHOOL: Lakewood St. Edward.

SIZE: 6-foot-3, 190-pounds.

POSITION: Wide receiver.

POSITION RANKING: Number-24 wide receiver.

SCOUTING REPORT: Nice sized kid with the frame to continue to add bulk. Good ball tracking skills, catch radius and uses his body well to get in position to make grabs and shield defenders. Can go up and make catches away from his body. Used on screens and short routes and shows solid open field ability. Good but not great speed and does not always create a lot of separation. Shows toughness and willingness to go over the middle and to get involved as a blocker. - Allen Trieu.

WHY Ohio State?

"I have made the decision to switch my commitment from Kentucky to Ohio State," Stump stated. "Growing up in Ohio, it's always been my dream to play for Ohio State because this is state I was born in. Once I got the offer, there was just something in my heart that told me I had to be a Buckeye, and today I called Coach (Urban) Meyer and made that come true."

"I did visit Ohio State two weeks ago when we played Cincinnati Elder," he added. "My parents and I stopped there on the way home and had a two-hour talk with Urban Meyer. We got to know the coaches better, and I also spent time with (wide receivers coach) Zach Smith. Coach Meyer told me to take my time with things, and that's what I did."
