SCOUTING REPORT FROM HIS COACH: What stands out about him physically?
He’s about 6-7 and 320 pounds so he’s a huge human being, but he’s also very lean. There’s very little fat on him. He’s worked himself into a muscular body and a lean physique, so he looks great. He has an NFL body.
How has he improved over the course of his high school career?
He played tight end at Juan Diego before he transferred here, so he had never played on the O-line. We had a few growing pains his junior year, but the ability was there and by the end of the season he was playing really well. He developed his pass protection over his junior year and hardly got beat there. He needed a little more work in the run game.
In the offseason between his junior and senior year he hired a personal trainer and really developed his body and got a lot stronger and leaner. He lost some bad weight, gained some good weight and became more flexible. He was able to play lower in the run game and in his senior year he was great in both running and passing situations. The kid’s worked hard and he deserves everything coming his way.
