Jerron Cage Commits To Ohio State

Ohio State's class of 2017 picked up more steam Tuesday evening as four-star defensive tackle Jerron Cage made his pledge to the Buckeyes, giving OSU eight Scout 300 players in the class.

Ohio State's class of 2017 keeps getting better all the time.

Ahead of the upcoming Friday Night Lights event at OSU, Cincinnati Winton Woods four-star defensive lineman Jerron Cage pledged to the Buckeyes, giving OSU eight commitments in the class -- all of whom are Scout 300 prospects.

It's a key position of need for the Buckeyes and Cage will add beef to the interior line at 6-3, 280 pounds. He picked up his offer in June and picked the Buckeyes ahead of other offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky and Louisville.

Cage is rated the No. 11 defensive tackle in the class and the best in the Midwest. He is No. 155 overall in the Scout.com rankings for 2017.

He joins Ohioans Josh Myers, Todd Sibley, Danny Clark and Marcus Williamson in the class giving the Buckeyes a great start when it comes to in-state prospects in the class.

Cage is expected to be at FNL over the weekend.
