Video: Buckeyes First Practice In Pads

Ohio State held it's first practice in pads of fall camp and BuckeyeSports was there to get some footage of the action.

Today was the Buckeyes first practice in pads and Urban Meyer and Co. took the team over to the Coffey Road fields to get away from the facility for a bit.

While everyone was surely excited to be out of shorts and get a chance to hit somebody after a summer without contact, cornerbacks coach Kerry Coombs may have been a bit more amped up than everyone else.

Aside form pads, a noticeable difference from practices early in the week was freshman quarterback Torrance Gibson going through drills with the wide receivers. The video below shows the athletic freshman, still in his no-contact black No. 6 jersey, getting off blocks. Braxton Miller also takes part and gets some individual instruction from Meyer.

Miller also spent some time fielding punts along with Jalin Marshall and Ezekiel Elliott.

And in what may be the most terrifying play call for opposing defenses this year Cardale Jones runs the option and pitches to Miller. J.T. Barrett also gets some work in with Elliott.

In their first chance to really lay some hits this fall the linebackers run through tackling drills.

The linebackers also got a chance to go head-to-head with the Buckeye running backs.

A look at the Ohio State running backs going through drills on their own.

And because no Ohio State practice update would be complete without some reference to the quarterback battle, here are Jones and Barrett playing catch.
