Buckeyes No. 1 In Preseason AP Poll

Ohio State sat atop the preseason Associated Press poll released Sunday, putting OSU atop the major polls going into the season.

Last season, Ohio State won the national championship. This year, the Buckeyes return plenty of Heisman candidates and lost just a handful of starters.

In other words, Sunday's news is no surprise -- the Buckeyes are No. 1.

The Associated Press poll is one of the last to come out before the season but it confirmed what many others had previously, that the Buckeyes are the top team in the nation heading into 2015. In fact, Ohio State received all 61 first-place votes, making them the first unanimous preseason choice in poll history.

The Buckeyes were also No. 1 in the coaches' poll, which was released in July, and have also headlined just about every other preseason poll as well.

The rest of the top five in the AP vote included TCU, Alabama, Baylor and Big Ten rival Michigan State. Auburn, Oregon, USC, Georgia and Florida State completed the top 10, while the third Big Ten team in the poll was Wisconsin at No. 20.
