Pryor Highlights Former Buckeyes In NFL

After being cut by the Bengals and switching to wide receiver Terrelle Pryor made the Cleveland Brown's 53-man roster, making him one of 26 former Buckeyes on active rosters heading into the 2015 season.

Terrelle Pryor missed out on a roster spot with the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the 2014 season, then ended up being released after a brief stint with the Kansas City Chiefs.

He finally latched on with the Cincinnati Bengals ahead during the offseason, but he was cut, seemingly ending his dreams of being an NFL quarterback.

While those particular dreams certainly appear to be a thing of the past, the former Ohio State signal caller found himself making the trip north to join the Cleveland Browns, and he switched positions along the way.

Now Pryor has officially made the Browns’ 53-man roster as a wide receiver, and he said he’s holding himself “to the highest standard” despite still having work to do.

Devin Smith Waits His Turn

After a standout senior season for the Buckeyes, Devin Smith found himself headed to New York as a second round pick for the Jets. But by no fault of his own, Smith hit a roadblock almost immediately when he fractured his ribs and suffered a punctured lung in practice.

With the season kicking off this week, Smith said he doesn’t have a timetable for a return, but he expects to form a dangerous trio with Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall once he returns to full health.

Panthers Go All-Buckeyes At WR

With top wideout Kelvin Benjamin out for the season, the Carolina Panthers had limited options when it came to picking two starters. But the two they picked — at least for the time being — once starred for Ohio State: Philly Brown and Ted Ginn Jr.

Neither has been an established starter in recent seasons, but they’ll get there chance to shine “right now,” Carolina head coach Ron Rivera said.
