Kam Williams Dunks, Austin Grandstaff Threes Highlight Buckeyes On The Blacktop Event

Our first look at the enter 2015-16 Ohio State Buckeyes came Thursday night on the blacktop courts outside the RPAC and the team didn't disappoint.

With six players expected to see the court for the first time this season for Ohio State, it's hard to say exactly what the basketball Buckeyes will look like this year. If Thursday night was any indication, however, we know they are going to be fun.

The Ohio State men's and women's team put on a show at the outdoor courts just south of Ohio Stadium Thursday night as part of the Buckeyes on The Blacktop event. The festivities, hosted by former Ohio State star Ron Stokes, featured a coed shooting competition, a three-point challenge and a dunk contest.

Our first look at freshman point guard JaQuan Lyle came with some impressive shooting from the corner as part fo the three-point contest.

Freshman Austin Grandstaff bettered his classmate with 15 made threes in the first round of the contest while Kelsey Mitchell, who was the freshman of the year in women's basketball last season, also advanced to the finals with 14 threes. Grandstaff eventually won the contest.

That all set up the night's finale as Daniel Giddens, Jae'Sean Tate, Dave Bell and Kam Williams competed in the dunk contest judged by football players Joshua Perry and Parris Campbell.

While Giddens eventually won the contest, the 6-2 Williams put on the best show.

Our first look at the BUckeyes gave little insight to what they will look like on the hardwood this season, but they looked pretty good on teh blacktop.
