Urban Meyer And Ohio State Players On Moving Past J.T. Barrett's Suspension, Preparing For Minnesota

Hear from Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer as well as linebackers Joshua Perry and Darron Lee, defensive tackle Joel Hale and offensive lineman Pat Elflein as they move past J.T. Barrett's suspension and prepare for Minnesota.

A few days removed from the news that quarterback J.T. Barrett would be suspended for Ohio State's game against Minnesota as a result of his citation for an OVI over the weekend Buckeye players addressed the media.

Offensive lineman Pat Elflein was one of a number of players that Barrett called the morning after he was cited to apologize and talk about the situation. The junior described that phone call.

Captain Joshua Perry said that the team doesn't have time to be distracted by the loss of Barrett for this game as they are too busy preparing for the Golden Gophers.

The Buckeyes won’t be the only team in Ohio Stadium Saturday night facing adversity as Minnesota will be playing its second game following the resignation of head coach Jerry Kill for health reasons. Ohio State defensive tackle Joel Hale spoke about that challenge facing the Golden Gophers as well as the added scrutiny the Buckeyes have been under this season as the defending national champions.

Elflein also spoke about what he expects from Minnesota this week and how the Buckeyes have worked to maintain momentum through their open week.

Linebacker Darron Lee spoke about the Ohio State gameplan coming off an open week and how he feels about the Golden Gophers offense

Ohio State debuted at No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings when the first top 25 was released Nov. 3. Perry spoke about the Buckeyes position in those rankings.
