Raekwon McMillan, who is a semifinalist for the Butkus Aaward as the nation’s best linebacker, on winning the high school version of the award as a senior and the strengths of his unit for the Buckeyes.
Jalin Marshall is the 11th-best punt returner in the nation and second-best in the Big Ten with an average of 13.3 yards per return. The sophomore spoke about the art of fielding a punt.
Marshall also spoke about the pressure the Buckeyes have been under this season before speaking to his expectations for J.T. Barrett as the quarterback returns from a one-game suspension.
Offensive lineman Billy Price spoke about the balance the offense is trying to strike between executing what the team is best at and implementing something that will keep the defense off balance.
Defensive coordinator spoke about the abilities of Joey Bosa and his positive attitude despite not accruing the statistics he had a year ago. The defensive end is a finalist for the Lombardi Award, Ted Hendricks Award and the Bednarik Award as a junior.
Safety Vonn Bell is also a semifinalist for some major hardware, in contention for the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s best defensive back. He spoke about the state of the defense through nine games, how much fun they are having on that side of the ball and how far he has come since signing with Ohio State as a five-star prospect.
Bell and the defense played lights out for most of the game against Minnesota Saturday, but did allow 14 fourth-quarter points. Linebacker Darron Lee spoke about the struggles in that quarter and the importance of closing teams out.
