Ohio State sits at 10-0, but given the level of competition the team has faced there is a lot left to elarn about the Buckeyes.
That educational process will start this weekend as Michigan State travels to Ohio Stadium in a game that will double as senior day for 18 players.
Coach Urban Meyer discussed the poor pass protection that plagued the Buckeyes against Illinois and said that has to get fixed for Ohio State to get past the Spartans. Offensive gfuard Pat Elflein spoke about the magnitude of the game with the Spartans and getting things fixed up front.
With the pass game struggling the Buckeyes pounded the ball with Ezekiel Elliott, who finished with 181 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Running backs coach Tony Alford spoke about the consistency of the junior that Ohio State has relied on so much this season.
Middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan was one fo three players of the game against Illinois. The sphomore spoke abou the magnitue of this weekend's game with the Spartans.
Defensive coordinator Chris Ash lauded McMillan for the transformation he has made in his time at Ohio State and also addressed the Buckeyes secondary and what they will have to do to stop MSU QB Connor Cook.
Cook has thrown for 21 touchdowns agaisnt just four interceptions this season. Ohio State starting cornerback Eli Apple spoke about what the Buckeyes need to do to slow down the Spartans senior.
Taked with getting to Cook will be Joey Bosa, along with the rest of the Buckeyes defensive line. Bosa has frequently faced double teams this season and went up against three blockers at times against Illinois. The junior spoke about that challenge and the diffferent feeling with a big game looming this weekend.
