Ohio State fans got some good news when junior offensive lineman Pat Elflein announced on Twitter that he’s returning for his senior season.
Elflein’s return is huge for an offensive line that is losing starting tackles Taylor Decker and Chase Farris and starting center Jacoby Boren, all of whom were seniors in 2015. The Pickerington, Ohio, native can play guard or center, which will give offensive coordinator Ed Warinner more of a chance of putting his best five linemen out there while also reducing the number of first-year starters on next season’s line.
One day earlier, Elflein said he was considering the NFL but would probably return to Columbus.
“I’m not trying to avoid it but I’m considering it,” he said. “But my main focus is on Notre Dame right now. I’m focusing on them and trying to get one more win for the Buckeyes this season.
“I’m still just trying to see what is out there. I’m probably coming back but I’m seeing what is out there, what the information is saying and trying to get as much as I can to make the best informed decision.
