Verbatim chat transcript from 7/31:

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:04:22 PM)
Hi guys

LightningRod (Jul 31, 2003 2:05:33 PM)
question for anyone who knows - did MoC actually file an insurance claim, or did the dealership file the claim with a statement from MoC, or was an insurance claim filed by anyone

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:05:58 PM)

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:06:17 PM)
am i in the right rrom?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:06:25 PM)
this is the one

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:06:29 PM)

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:07:02 PM)
Ok Kirk whats your opinion on the whole mess

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:07:04 PM)

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:07:35 PM)
Will Mo's situtation affect OSU taking another RB in this class?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:08:40 PM)
Mess is a good word for it. I think that MoC is obviously on thin ice. There were all sorts of things circulating that the punishment would be worse than it was. Hopefully it will be a lesson to him to stay straight from now on. The team I think will be ready to go and won't let it distract them from their preparation

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:09:12 PM)
It sure doesn't look good, imo, that MC and his mom were both using a "borrowed vehicle" from the dealer. And the one was a Lincoln Navigator

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:09:36 PM)
Do you think that from now on M will be a little more team oriented?

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:10:22 PM)
The team needs to hold a military style blanket party for him

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:10:41 PM)
that is funny Iratebuck.....

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:10:43 PM)
Good idea they worked when I was in

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:10:49 PM)

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:11:37 PM)
Kirk, you hearing any ohio guys names being circulated as close to getting an offer?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:11:55 PM)
sobuck I hope it will cause him to stay focused on what needs to be done. If it doesn't, then it may never

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:12:15 PM)
Does anyone know if we are going to offer D. ferguson

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:12:21 PM)
Did you guys read the Tom Orr article on Ozone, man I thought I was irate!

Hubbard (Jul 31, 2003 2:12:59 PM)
What was the jist of it irate?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:13:04 PM)
dope, actually I haven't... to my knowledge, they aren't close to offering anyone new in Ohio

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:13:17 PM)
Do you know where Mario Manningham is leaning? There was talk on the recruiting board that he may be leaning to scUM. I hope that is not the case. He did get along well with Burgess.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:13:18 PM)
I read it too and was a little surprised by the tone. If, when MoC returns he needs to get back in touch w/ the team. If I were Tressel I would make him move into the dorm and call me every hour to keep a tight leash on him

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:13:31 PM)
I think that MC needs to move back into the dorms, stay there and keep his mouth shut until he moves on.

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:14:01 PM)
from what I read tOSU isn't even contacting DF

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:14:07 PM)
I see Mo getting 2-3 games off from the NCAA. Lets just hope that someone steps up vs. Wash and NCSt

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:14:41 PM)
Thats a shame we need to get another back.

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:14:45 PM)
hopefully we really do have a passing game too

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:14:49 PM)
Does anyone see this whole mess as a blessing in disguise meaning that we will have to rely on the pass more and open up the off which may help us later in the year?

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:15:20 PM)
IF OSU misses out on some out of state RBs, do you see them offering Delbert or Calhoun?

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:15:23 PM)
Anytime you lose your best player I wouldn't call it a blessing. We do need to open up the offense more though.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:15:31 PM)
I think we'll have to pass more especially if both of our fbacks are hurt.

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:15:39 PM)
only if CK is as good as he thinks he can be if the passing game opens up

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:15:45 PM)
dope, re: your earlier question -- I'll guess not. I think they were thinking about taking one more anyway, but you never know. Maybe it would persuade them to do something like looking at Guilford at RB

LightningRod (Jul 31, 2003 2:16:07 PM)
Manningham is going to be interesting to follow. Massillon is under the gun for recruiting violations and must file its report withthe OHSAA in the next few weeks explaining how it intends to punish itself. This could impact Manningham's thinking depending on how he feels affected.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:16:17 PM)
Someone will have to be 3rd string till Mo returns

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:16:54 PM)
Interesting thought Mike but personally I still want a 100% MoC on the field if we're talking about giving the best chance to win

sandtraps (Jul 31, 2003 2:17:14 PM)
Does anyone see MO just transferring and than just playing 1 yr at the new school. I don't see him handling sitting out

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:17:15 PM)
Kirk is S. White moving to fullback to cover for Joe and S.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:17:25 PM)
So do I, but it will be interesting to see what thsi causes Tress to do to replce his abscence

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:17:33 PM)
Manningham is at Warren Harding, but I think Michigan is very much a player there.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:17:39 PM)
It seems OSU has cooled on Delbert but they are in contact with Calhoun. I am pulling for Calhoun & Cagoden to get offers......Looks like Cadogen is going to SCum!

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:18:00 PM)
I think if we offer Cadogen we will be his no. 1

LightningRod (Jul 31, 2003 2:18:02 PM)
I knew that, and I knew that after I posted that

LightningRod (Jul 31, 2003 2:18:05 PM)

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:18:52 PM)
Sandtraps- If Mo transferred after school starts he would have to sit out next yr too I believe, which would be his 3rd yr of eligibility. I don't see him transferring as I see him leaving school after '04 anyways

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:18:52 PM)
sobuck I saw the talk about Schnit but I personally hadn't seen anything verified yet. I've heard enough to believe the Joe news. Someone would have to fill in; haven't heard anything specifically about White though

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:19:15 PM)
What is the news on Joe?

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:19:17 PM)
What did I miss about our FB's? Injuries? Grades? Other?

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:19:30 PM)
Would be nice to know the "real" feeling of the team on this mess

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:19:54 PM)
Joe had surgery and I heard schnit has an injured back

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:01 PM)
Joe's apparently hurt but I haven't seen anything on Schnittker other than message board chatter

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:03 PM)
What kind of surgery

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:14 PM)
How long is Joe out for?

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:22 PM)
Could Hamby play FB

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:34 PM)
I heard torn pec but like Kirk said it all could be rumor

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:44 PM)
Hawk played FB but no way he switches from LB......

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:20:56 PM)
No way. He will become a monster at OLB

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:21:10 PM)
Hawk is a monster anywhere you put him.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:21:16 PM)
Same source said 8wks

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:21:33 PM)
Forget a FB and play LI in a 2-TE set. Open up the offense some

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:22:28 PM)
Xavier Lee has said that FSU and Auburn lead but he wants to come up here for a game. In the latest update he said he is not really looking at FSU anymore because of the commitment of Weatherford. It sounds like he is getting his grades in order and we may in his top 2 now with Auburn. Is the staff recruiting Xavier and do we have a decent shot at him? It sounds like he is our second choice at QB behind Robbie Reid.

Hubbard (Jul 31, 2003 2:22:57 PM)
Man I hope there is some good news on the horizon, becuase we are havinf a string of negative stuff

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:23:26 PM)
Either one would be a nice addition. I'm liking the way the recruiting class is developing. I see us finishing Top 5 if all goes as planned w/ the in-state guys

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:23:43 PM)
Me too, it seems for every good thing we get two bad ones.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:23:46 PM)
Have we even offered X. Lee yet? I like the Reid kid better...Lee looks more like a WR to me.

craig krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:23:53 PM)
What are our chances with brandon baxton and robbie reid, does anyone have any inside info or hear rumors?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:23:56 PM)
They are recruiting Lee to my knowledge but more focus is on Reid.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:24:17 PM)
Hubbard- If anyone can turn a negative into a positive, its Tress. We'll see if he can keep the team focused this year.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:24:55 PM)
Reid has eliminated Georgia. I think we have a nice shot at landing him.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:24:57 PM)
KIrk- When do you see the next"big run" of verbals? Once the season is a few games old or towards the end of the HS season?

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:25:02 PM)
Does any one know what happened with the guy Morton from Georgia. Is he in or out?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:25:18 PM)
Braxton and Reid seem pretty open. If I had to guess though, I'd say Braxton ends up at Ohio State although he could still take visits. OSU's main competition for Reid is OkState right now. The Bucks need to get him up for a visit.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:25:37 PM)
I plan on going to see Morton play this fall. I hope that he is as good as billed.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:25:51 PM)
His physical numbers are very impressive.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:25:59 PM)
I would like to see Morton & L. Washongton (GA) both get offers.......

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:26:07 PM)
runs a 4.9 at around 280.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:26:09 PM)
Did he verbal or is he still looking at other schools

LightningRod (Jul 31, 2003 2:26:30 PM)
Any additional info on Sian Cotton?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:26:49 PM)
Mike68 might not be until December. There was a dry spell last year like that. We will likely see a verbal or two within the next 6-8 weeks or so, but I think it will fill up for sure starting in December. During the season we don't seem to see as many.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:27:15 PM)
Here is my opinion on what happened with Morton. He verbaled but then staff wants to keep him silent in hopes of landing Mitchum on the DL.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:27:50 PM)
I could see some verbals if OSU offered Cadogen, Calhoun or Delbert.......Kirk, you think nay of these 3 have a shot?

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:28:04 PM)
So he did commit then? If so that would be a good thing.

craig krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:28:13 PM)
kirk, we have a good problem at linebacker the next few years, but with all the guys, dandrea, carptenter, hawk, kerr, anthony schliegel, are we gonna rotate to a 3-4 for awhile, it would be ashame to not utulize all those players talents

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:28:30 PM)
I just think Frank could be a bit confused, but who knows. It could be one of those things where the staff said something like "We'll have an offer for you if..." but I don't know. What we need to do eventually is catch up with his coach. Right now, I'm not counting him as a commit. Anyway, he said OSU was in his top three...

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:28:34 PM)
He said he committed but then the last update he never even mentioned the committing. He just said we were his no. 1 school.

nbuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:28:53 PM)
duane jones from nj is a definite possibilite

DenBuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:29:21 PM)
Is Morton someone we want or do not want?

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:29:24 PM)
Right. Thanks

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:29:26 PM)
Kirk, do you know if Duane Jones is being looked at as a FB or a RB. Rivals has him ranked as the no. 1 FB in the country.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:29:49 PM)
I think Cadogan not listing OSU right now says everything we need to know there. We're trying to find out what happened, but I'm guessing OSU told him that they weren't offering. IF they offered those three, I think there would be a good shot of those being verbals, but...

nbuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:30:31 PM)
i think his speed will determine position

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:02 PM)
I would like Washington form GA as well. Sounds like he likes us and is a very quick guy for a interior player.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:17 PM)
But you dont see OSU offering Delbert or Calhoun, even with BIG senior years? Calhoun is impressive for someone not publicized as much .

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:26 PM)
I can't understand why any big time FB would not want to go to a high profilr running school like tOSU

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:27 PM)
Rivals had Maurice Clarett rated as the #1 FB in the country too, but they're likely just projecting, which we all do. I'm pretty sure Dwayne Jones views himself as a RB, but we want to talk to him soon to find out.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:35 PM)
Kirk do you know any news on Ginn I keep reading that he's 99% OSU.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:31:53 PM)
Washington is not happy we haven't offered yet. I remember a quote from his last update like "If OSU offered me I would have some questions for them. Why no offer thus far?" Something along those lines.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:32:10 PM)
Washington is a very nice kid. I hate to say it, but if he sent OSU his tape (which he did) and they haven't contacted him, then that might say it all.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:33:10 PM)
Is bucknuts still going to be putting up video clips, we havent had any in awhile......

nbuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:33:16 PM)
kirk which ohio offensive lineman could get offered late if we strike out on the oos players

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:33:22 PM)
What about Narinsky? Kirk, do you see interest in him picking up. I saw that lemming had him in his Top 25 LB's

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:33:36 PM)
I don't know exactly how much they are staying in contact with Jimmy Calhoun. Jimmy could play DB too I guess. Delbert said they aren't contacting him at all. I'm not optimistic, but if he has a big year, it's conceivable it could happen

nybucks (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:06 PM)
kirk, have you guys heard any word lately on the kid that has an offer from us as a de from detroit cass tech?

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:08 PM)
If DF doesn't get frustrated about no offer thus far and just commit elsewhere.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:21 PM)
Vernon Gholston

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:31 PM)
is the DE i think your talking about

Iratebuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:41 PM)
KIrk, the NCAA usually takes their sweet time to investigate schools and players and file a report. How long iyo does thisdrag out?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:46 PM)
dope, just the other day I got tapes of OL Leon Hart, which I'll be putting up, and I got a tape of Tallahassee Lincoln which I thought would have Bauserman on it but doesn't. There are still some players of interest on there though I might put up anyway (like OL Calvin Darity, plus they have a junior who's rated the #2 jr in FL that's pretty good)

nybucks (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:49 PM)
I think so but not sure

craig krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:34:53 PM)
Thats odd someone like delbert who had some much hype is not even being talked to anymore, all because of his hands.............

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:35:35 PM)
I think speed has something to do with it. I think hands could be coached once a buckeye, so IMO it has to be something more.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:35:43 PM)
Narinskiy has shot up into Duane's top 40, but I must say I don't know about OSU's interest. The other day he didn't mention anything, but I am pretty sure he'd be very interested if they offered.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:35:59 PM)
Plus Duane is sending us more tapes soon too.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:36:16 PM)
Kirk, do you guys have tape clips of Delbert, Calhoun or Ray Jones to put up?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:36:43 PM)
nybucks, he's a guy we have been trying to get through to with no luck. We need to find him though since he was talking about possibly making a decision before the season

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:36:43 PM)
I guess you can tell I am pulling for the OH guys to get offers.....!!

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:37:45 PM)
Vernon Gholston is the guy I really want. 6-3 240 with 4.5 speed. Sounds like a monster defensive end.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:37:53 PM)
Iratebuck, tough to say. Remember this happened in April, and in all likelihood, they've known about it a while. Depends on when they started. Let's just hope it all gets resolved before Aug. 30

nybucks (Jul 31, 2003 2:37:53 PM)
Hey Kirk I got a good question for ya, seeing that Kirk Barton came out of nowhere last year in a bad year for oline in ohio , do you think if he was a senior this year would he get an offer and how would he compare to the great group of oline we have in the state this year

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:38:33 PM)
dope, Calhoun and Ray Jones are supposed to be coming to me, but the one we have of Delbert is copyrighted.

craig krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:38:46 PM)
sounds like an outside linebacker until you get hit at by V G and feel hes a D.E.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:39:28 PM)
Let's hope MoC knows ASAP so that he doesn't miss any more practice time than necessary. Sounds to me like the NCAA has be talking w/ him long enough that they have to be close to a conclusion.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:39:42 PM)
Has V. Gholston been offered? I like him better than Massey.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:39:55 PM)
He was offered after a monster performance at camp.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:40:03 PM)
dope- Don't Let Cat Fan hear you say that. LOL.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:40:44 PM)
Kirk, where do you think Massey is leaning. On the bucknuts radio hour he sounded very pro-OSU.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:41:09 PM)
I am not sold on Massey, sorry.......

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:41:43 PM)
I think Barton this year might still rank behind the top four of Braxton, PErson, Cadogan and Incarnato, but that's not a knock on Barton because this is a strong crop of O-linemen.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:41:59 PM)
Kirk- Is there anything that you can dig up on Louis Holmes. Is he just waiting for a test score or more?

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:42:06 PM)
No Rehring in the top 4?

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:42:22 PM)
Isnt Incarnto supposed to committ to either Pitt or ND soon?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:42:56 PM)
I agree that Massey sounded positive towards OSU, but this is a guy that all along we've been hearing is tough to read. Based on the show though I like OSU's chances.

loudonvillebuckeye (Jul 31, 2003 2:43:53 PM)
Why hasn't Mich offered?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:44:05 PM)
Mike68, the Dillard camp still says Holmes is OSU bound. We just asked them that a couple weeks ago, but I wish we could hear OSU's side

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:44:28 PM)
They already have a DE commitment and have several offers out their to other DE's.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:44:50 PM)
That is fine with me if they don't offer.

nybucks (Jul 31, 2003 2:45:35 PM)
kirk, that hit from oneal was unreal in the video, glad he already commited, are we in the lead for mannigham like we are the olineman who's name eludes me and do they plan on making a early commitment like oneal.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:45:40 PM)
Any chance you can contact Holmes and see what his story is. This whole thing has been very strange since signing day.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:45:54 PM)
But if Massey was so good & his brother is there, why wouldnt they offer?

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:46:10 PM)
Alex Boone is the OL i think you are talking about.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:46:35 PM)
I'm kind of withholding on Rehring a bit. Based on junior tape and camp combined, I have to be honest and say I like the other four. But Rehring has gotten much better and looked great at camp. So I want to leave him as an unknown until I see him this year.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:46:44 PM)
I thought Holmes was going to JC college?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:47:31 PM)
I think O'Neal is a fabulous prospect. I think OSU leads for Alex Boone. Manningham I don't know about.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:47:59 PM)
Michigan offered Cadogen and OSU hasn't. OSU offered Massey but Michigan hasn't. Sometimes staffs just see different things in prospects.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:48:01 PM)
I would take O'Neal this fall and play him at Safety

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:49:12 PM)
There's different needs too and maybe the staffs of these teams feel like they are in better shape with guys they like better. Lots of things vary

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:49:24 PM)
He looks like a stud on his film he almost beheaded that one running back

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:49:27 PM)
What all can you tell me about Eric Haw, I know hes very quick but lemming didn't have him rated well at all neither did the insiders, how good is this guy?

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:50:09 PM)
If Haw can run like he is suppossed to, the rest can be coached up

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:50:28 PM)
I remember in previous chats before the camp Duane saying this guy could be a real sleeper. I guess he wasn't a complete unknown.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:50:38 PM)
I am not sold on Haw being a RB, I think he gets moved to another position.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:51:32 PM)
I just talked to Haw the other day, and I think first of all that this guy could be one of the players to step forth from this class and be a leader. He's a great kid and a strong personality. He wasn't an unknown to us before camp, but Insiders hasn't seen his tape or anything so they aren't sure where to put him exactly ranking wise. I definitely plan on seeing him this year.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:51:58 PM)
Kirk, who would you rather see OSU land: Ginn, Braxton, Davis or Freeman? I would pick Freeman....

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:52:43 PM)
(then again you may be right Krik, after all insiders did have nick mangold rated way to low)

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:52:47 PM)
Duane is big on Haw too, seems like he will be a great pick up for OSU.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:52:57 PM)
Call me greedy, but I will be dissapointed if we don't land all of them.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:53:16 PM)
Thats not greed

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 2:53:23 PM)
I 2nd that Mr. Gamble. I feel very highly about that happening

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:53:30 PM)
I agree with the Insiders policy though -- it's better to be cautious of someone you're not sure of then to overrate someone based on word of mouth to find out later he isn't worth the ranking

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 2:53:54 PM)
All of them sound like buckeye leans.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:54:18 PM)
I hope we get all 4, I think that alone would gives us a TOP 10 class.....

Loudonville - I was originally from Danville

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:55:16 PM)
We will end up with a top10 class, most likely a top 5, teams comming off winning a chamionship always recruit well the following year

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:55:39 PM)
I am going to watch Wayne scrimmage Middletown...Freeman v. Calhoun, shoule be interesting match up....Wayne will be tough this year.

Rossford [depressed] Buck (Jul 31, 2003 2:55:52 PM)
What is the scoop of the day Kirk?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:55:56 PM)
dope, that's a good question. Davis is an important pickup because with the exception of Manningham, Ohio is lacking in WRs next year and there's some mixed vibes coming out of Warren there anyway. Then again, Ginn can play WR too. All are important for sure

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:56:53 PM)
I wish I had a good scoop to give.

loudonvillebuckeye (Jul 31, 2003 2:57:01 PM)
Rossford, I am originally from Amity

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 2:57:28 PM)
Who is going to be the big suprise get for us this year?

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:57:36 PM)
There is a receiver at Middletown, Andre Amos that is a real sleeper. He is 6,1, great separation. He was on Middletown's state winning relay team,, real jets

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:57:57 PM)
Amos is junior.

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:58:49 PM)
this year our surprise will be some blue chip QB for once

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 2:58:56 PM)

dope (Jul 31, 2003 2:59:00 PM)
Was Bolen's committment to Illinois a loss, there seemed to be a big splint of opinion, I saw him play, he is defn. tough kid.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 2:59:32 PM)
I liked Bolen... he wasn't what OSU was looking for in a RB, but I was hoping he'd come on board as a FB. No dice

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 3:00:24 PM)
I don't know if he's a loss if he will only play one position I think that we want kids who'll play anywhere that they are asked

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:00:39 PM)
Ohio is loaded with talen tthis year, do you think it is deeper than last years class? There seems to be a ton of OH kids committing to other schools.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 3:01:06 PM)
Deeper than last years, not 02.

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 3:01:46 PM)
JT seems to go on "get the talent then decide where to put them"

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 3:01:54 PM)
Dope tom lemming said it best, the big 4 football states are texas, florida, cali, and ohio, we always have talent to go around

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:02:04 PM)
I think it is deeper, but not as top heavy than '03. Not even close to '02 as far as the top goes, and the top next year is looking better as well

Rossford [depressed] Buck (Jul 31, 2003 3:02:28 PM)
Actually, me too Loudonville!

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 3:02:49 PM)
Glenville also being reborn as a HS powerhouse also helps raise the level of talent in NE ohio,

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 3:03:39 PM)
What names are surfacing as juniors to watch next year, any more DBs out of glenville or RBs out of harding?

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:03:41 PM)
I think in a different year, Delbert , Ray Jones & Calhoun would have gotten offers. I am pulling for at least one of them to get an offer. Calhoun could also play Safety, Delbert could play LB.....

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:05:04 PM)
OSU's already offered three of the top guys for next year in O'Neal, Manningham and Boone, and then you have guys like Javon Ringer (C-J RB) who are up there too

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:05:07 PM)
What about Gary Williams?

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:05:15 PM)
Gary Russell?

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:05:30 PM)
Sorry. The back out of Columbus

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 3:06:15 PM)
Gary Williams? Is that a combination or Ray Williams and Gary Russell? He must be a player. : )

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:06:28 PM)
I keep forgetting about him. He's one to watch. He should emerge with a big season and he's a good one. Also watch Dionte' Johnson; people were wondering who the unexpected offer might be... I'm not saying it will be him, but they are interested and have talked to him about FB

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:06:28 PM)
Which Gary has the really bad grades issue? R. Jones is outta Columbus......Both Garys would be up there with Jones, Calhoun & Delbert....See OH is loaded with talent, I bet all 5 of those kids end up a decent Div. I College

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:07:02 PM)
Ray Jones, Gary Russell, Delbert Ferguson, Jimmy Calhoun, and Ray Williams will all go D-I.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:07:54 PM)
That is amazing to me Kirk......Plus add Haw, & Pittman, that is unreal......

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:07:56 PM)
Any word on Duane Jarrett the WR from Jersey? Any chance of getting him on a Bucknuts hour or a Q and A

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:08:58 PM)
I am saying it here, B. Nicholas will be the next to committ....(at least I hope so, just a wild guess, no inside info.)

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:09:12 PM)
"The number you have reached... has been disconnected" is the message we get when trying to call Dwayne Jarret

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:09:22 PM)
dope- Let's hope you are right. He sounds like a really quick player.

Craig Krenzel is my dad (Jul 31, 2003 3:09:43 PM)
adios guys, time for happy hour, i'll have a beer for you Kirk

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:09:48 PM)
That's not good. I hope he is not in some sort of transient family situation

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:09:53 PM)
Yeah, he could be the reason to offical offer to Morton.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:10:20 PM)
I have to jet in a few minutes. Any last questions? Craig, make sure it is a good one, not Natty Light or Sam Adams or anything or even worse, PBR

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:10:28 PM)
I mean Nicholas may be the reason no offer to Morton yet

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:10:43 PM)
Him and Mitchum

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:10:58 PM)
How many LBs in this class Kirk? I want at least 2

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:11:31 PM)
I think they'll find two. There isn't much in Ohio, that's the problem.

dope (Jul 31, 2003 3:12:12 PM)
Plus, the two PA LBs will stay in state, hopefully a FL LB will emerge...Great chat, my first, thanks Kirk.......

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 3:12:23 PM)
Kirk, any word on how we stand with Brandon Nicolas?

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:12:24 PM)
Kirk- will Bucknuts be at WHAC on the 5th getting comments from the freshamn as well a s returning players?

sobuck (Jul 31, 2003 3:12:43 PM)
Mine too thanks everyone

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:12:54 PM)
I think OSU is doing well with Brandon Nicolas. He and the family are high on OSU.

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:13:45 PM)
Mike68, don't know yet, but definitely the 6th. Sheesh, that's right around the corner.

Chris Gamble (Jul 31, 2003 3:14:11 PM)
Kirk, thanks for your time today.

Mike68 (Jul 31, 2003 3:14:21 PM)
I'm glad its next week, but w/ o the Mo deal, I'm not as happy anymore

Kirk (Jul 31, 2003 3:15:54 PM)
Ok everyone, gotta get back to work on OFS. We hope to have everything done there by next week so that everyone can start looking for it by around the middle of the month. Should be a good issue. Thanks for stopping by and Go Bucks!
