In his second year at Ohio State Tim Beck is in a much easier position. IN 2015 he was tasked with navigating the most-hyped quarterback battle in Ohio State history. Now, J.T. Barrett is entrenched as the starter and Beck is simply filling out the depth chart behind the clear-cut starter.
Beck talked about the importance of solidifying a second-team quarterback, why Joe Burrow is currently in position to be that guy and how Barrett's demeanor is different this year.
Barrett spoke about the players currently behind him on the depth chart and what Beck is doing to improve their play.
Following the fifth day of practice safeties coach and co-defensive coordinator Greg Schiano spoke about the battle at his position group and what he is looking for out of that spot. Schiano addressed the leaders to start on Ohio State's back end and how Cam Burrows and Erick Smith are doing recovering from injuries.
Schiano said Damon Webb is in th lead to start for the Buckeyes this fall. The former cornerback spoke about transitioning positions and what Ohio State is looking for out of safeties.
Burrows spoke about how the first day in full pads went, the team goals for camp and what he anticipates his role will be for the Buckeyes this fall.
Smith highlighted about why he is a better player now then he was when he saw time on the 2014 national championship team as a freshman and what it took to mentally recover from the injuries he's suffered.
