Buckeyes Offer Walkon Spot To Local LB Christian Nkansah-Wiafe

Although Ohio State is in a tough spot with regards to open spots for the 2017 recruiting class, the Buckeyes are still trying to attract quality walkons. They are hoping to land Christian Nkansah-Wiafe.

The Ohio State roster is stacked with quality young talent, and there aren't very many spots available in the 2017 recruiting class. Looking to build depth, the Buckeyes are hoping to add quality walkons to the squad.

One such athlete is Westerville South linebacker Christian Nkansah-Wiafe, and he would be a great addition both athletically and academically.

Nkansah-Wiafe missed all of his junior season with a knee injury, but is fully healthy this season. He already holds eight scholarship offers, including Illinois.

"Ohio State talked to me during fall practice and told me they watched my film, and were interested in me," Nkansah-Wiafe stated. "They were giving me the opportunity to walkon to the team."

"I talked more with (assistant coach) Luke Fickell about it, and we talk every couple weeks," he added. "I do have full scholarship offers, and I wouldn't say that playing for Ohio State wouldn't be important to me."

"It's just that it would be hard to justify going to a school not offering money, compared to going somewhere on a full scholarship," he continued. "I have not decided exactly what to do yet, and I am considering it."
