Urban Meyer Updates: Ohio State wide receiver K.J. Hill "Ahead Of Schedule"

Ohio State head football coach Urban Meyer addressed the media after Wednesday practice leading up to OSU's game against Indiana.

Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer met with the media to discuss the Buckeyes' upcoming game against Indiana. 

  • Meyer said H-back Curtis Samuel did a great job of working his tail off even though he wasn't given a starting position immediately.
  • He said Indiana has a very good scheme and the level of quality players continues to improve each year. 
  • He said they take advantage of their personnel and that head coach Kevin Wilson does a nice job molding his schemes around his players' abilities
  • Brandon Bowen is making a move in terms of backup offensive linemen. 
  • He said Terry McLauirn wasn't good enough in camp and that he told him what he needed to work on. went home and worked on it everyday for two hours 
  • McCall is a very good open field runner and takes advantage of playing time he gets late in the games
  • With those lase-game reps, Meyer said it is a chance to see who he close to being game ready
  • Meyer said with quarterback J.T. Barrett distributing the ball to 10 receivers in the Rutgers game. said he's good at taking what the defense gives him. 
  • Robert Landers is a unique defensive tackle in that he can get up underneath pads. He said the whole line can't be like that, though. 
  • Meyer said he looks at the competitive spirit of players who play defensive tackle/the interior on the defensive front. 
  • He finished the press conference with saying there were no significant injuries this week and that K.J. Hill is ahead of schedule.
