Urban Meyer Updates: Offense Is The Main Focus Leading Into Northwestern Game

Following practice Wednesday, Urban Meyer met with the media to look forward to Saturday's game against Northwestern.

Urban Meyer came off the practice field Wednesday to meet with the media prior to Saturday's matchup against the Wildcats.

  • Meyer said the focus is completely on Northwestern. They have put the PSU loss behind them.
  • Meyer said there won't be a change at punt returner. Said they have continued to coach up Dontre Wilson this week.
  • After watching film and analyzing the PSU game, Meyer said coaches and players all need to do a better job on offense of executing plays and getting them in. First down is specifically a focus.
  • Meyer said he likes to have around 12 scripted plays offensively to start a game.
  • Meyer said he has not seen the offensive improvement he has seen in the past with his teams. Noted the 2014 Penn State win as a turning point for the title winning team.
  • On Isaiah Prince against Penn State, Meyer said, "He had a bad day. We are not giving up on him."
  • Meyer said no young players have caught his eye this week.
