Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer didn't shed much light on the situation regarding wide receiver Torrance Gibson, but he did say nothing is set in stone during a press conference Thursday.
"I don’t think there’s been anything finalized," Meyer said.
Gibson was suspended by the university for a violation of the student code of conduct for the entire fall semester and a tweet from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College suggested the player had signed a letter of intent with the school.
Further reports suggested Gibson's transfer to MGCCC was not a done deal, including reports that Gibson could still end up back at Ohio State. Meyer said the Buckeyes will do what they can to make sure Gibson ends up in the best situation, but he didn't say whether or not he could still return to Ohio State in the spring.
"He came to see me, and we love Torrance," Meyer said. "We'll do what is in the best interest for the student-athlete."
