Less than three weeks into 2017, last season is already history for the Ohio State football team.
The newest edition of the Buckeyes opened their winter workouts Tuesday in Columbus under the direction of Mickey Marotti, according to a university press release. The team worked out at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center's indoor field and utilized the basketball and racquetball courts as makeshift workout spaces due to construction at the WHAC that includes a renovation of the weight room.
Among the leaders of the 2017 group are quarterback J.T. Barrett, center Billy Price and defensive end Tyquan Lewis – all team captains who opted to return for their fifth-year senior seasons.
Winter conditioning is set to continue through the start of spring practice on March 7, according to the release. The Buckeyes' annual Spring Game will be held April 15.
Among those working out with the team were nine early enrollees from the 2017 recruiting class: LB Baron Browning, RB J.K. Dobbins, QB Tate Martell, OL Josh Myers, S Jeffrey Okudah, S Isaiah Pryor, CB Shaun Wade, Athlete Brendon White and CB Marcus Williamson.
