Just days after Ohio State signed 21 players in its 2017 class, the Buckeyes got a commitment from one of their biggest 2018 targets.
Four-star safety Jaiden Woodbey (6-2, 206) of Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco announced his commitment to the Buckeyes via Twitter on Feb. 6. He chose Ohio State out of a final four that also included Nebraska, Oklahoma and USC.
Woodbey, who played high school football with 2017 Ohio State offensive line signee Wyatt Davis, was a key target for the Buckeyes, and he was on campus for a recent Junior Day. Scout.com, the parent network of BuckeyeSports.com, rates Woodbey the No. 35 overall player and No. 2 safety in the 2018 class.
Woodbey is the third commit in Ohio State’s 2018 class, joining Franklin (Ga.) Heard County four-star quarterback Emory Jones (6-3½, 177) and Seffner (Fla.) Armwood four-star running back Brian Snead (5-11, 195).
