Taron Vincent Announces His Commitment To Ohio State

The nation's top defensive tackle in the 2018 class commits to Ohio State Sunday evening.

Ohio State landed its fifth commitment for the 2018 class and boy is it a big one.

Defensive tackle Taron Vincent out of IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., announced his pledge to the Buckeyes on Sunday evening.

Vincent (6-1, 290) is the No. 21 overall prospect and the top-ranked defensive tackle in the 2018 class.

He was pursued by a number of elite programs across the country, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Michigan and Oklahoma, to name a few.

"My relationship with the coaching staff and the plan they have for my future," Vincent said of why he committed to OSU, according to Tom VanHaaren of ESPN. "My heart just told me I was ready."

Vincent joins athlete Jaelen Gill, quarterback Emory Jones, running back Brian Snead and safety Jaiden Woodbey in the Buckeyes' 2018 haul.

Gill, Jones and Woodbey all had immediate reactions to Vincent's announcement.
