According to reports by TMZ Sports and Cleveland 19 (WOIO), former Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley is being accused of sexual assault during a stay in Cleveland on April 9.
Cleveland 19 (WOIO) first reported that a "college football player who is expected to be taken in the first round of Thursday's NFL Draft," was the subject of the allegations. A few hours later, TMZ Sports reported that the former Buckeye cornerback is the player in question.
According to TMZ, Conley, 21, is accused of sexual assaulting a 23-year old white female in a bathroom at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cleveland. The report by TMZ says the woman called 911 following the incident in question and claimed her assailant was a "black male who wouldn't take his sunglasses off and had an Ohio State tattoo on his left forearm."
Kevin Spellacy, who is reportedly Conley's attorney, told Cleveland 19, "In my opinion this young lady is an opportunist and it's actually despicable."
Conley is a projected first round pick in Thursday nights NFL Draft.
No arrests have been made and no charges have been filed in the case at this time.
